How are Covid-19 and Influenza Different?

Influenza and Covid-19 appear to be the two sides of the same coin? Both are contagious respiratory illnesses. They affect the lungs and breathing. Not only do influenza and Covid-19 have overlapping signs and symptoms, but co-infection with both has been documented.

How are Covid-19 and Influenza Different?

The smallest particles may linger in the air, and another person can inhale them and become infected. Influenza is not that benign. As it is being made out. Its complications can include inflammation of the heart, brain or muscles, and multiorgan failure.
Secondary bacterial infections sometimes occur following a bout of influenza infection. Approximately 1,138,671 deaths reported worldwide due to Influenza. Covid-19 is also reported to have killed a similar number. Out of which about 122000 in India alone.

Is The Covid-19 More Severe Than The Influenza?

Same Complications are possible after a severe case of Covid-19. Obesity and related ailments enhance the chances of fatalities.
India’s fatality rate is about 18% with co-morbidities and 1.2% without it. Flu’s R0 (capacity to infect) is about 1.3 and that of Covid is around a median of 2.8 i e Covid is vastly more infectious and more deadly than flu.
